Forrest Gump Review

Synopsis

This film begins with a feather falling to the feet of a guy that only have a low IQ who called Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump is sitting at a bus stop in Georgia and he picked up the feather. After that, he told his life story to a woman seated next to him.

His story started with him and his “mama” who teaches him some lesson in life and asked him to choose his destiny bravely.

 Because of his cripple and his low IQ, Forrest Gump discriminated by his school mates. However, he meets a girl named Jenny who became his best and only friend in his childhood life. Jenny encouraged Forrest to run quickly when his schoolmates bullied him as a result Forrest had discarded his leg bracelet and his had explored ability to run at a lighting speed.

 Forrest accomplished great things in his life because of his special ability. His lighting running speed gets him into college and after his college graduation he enlisted in the army which sent to Vietnam.  He made friend with – Bubba and Dan during his served army service. These two guys changed Forrest’s life. Because of them, Forrest wins medal for his heroism, created a famous fishing fleet, inspired people to jog, starts a ping-pong competition tours, donating to people and meeting the president several times.

However, all of the significant things that Forrest did are all for his childhood sweetheart Jenny. What was Forrest did touched Jenny’s heart, Jenny came back for him and they married and had a child at last.

 The film ends with a father and son waiting for a school bus on little Forrest’s school opening day. As the little Forrest get on the bus, the feather caught on a breeze and drifts skyward.

I think this film had encouraged people to love their life and moved on when the things going bad. The ability is not the most important criteria to have a successful and happy life. Only the courage, love and the determination can make our life better.
